We are proud to announce the latest addition to our innovative Polyhydrate™ product line: GN Arginine Polyhydrate™.

GN Arginine Polyhydrate™ takes the hottest ingredient in nitric oxide boosters and pump supplements to the next level by using our innovative Polyhydrate™ Unique Buffering technology and probiotic bacteria to increase absorption and bioavailability. Do not make the mistake of equating Arginine Pohlyhydrate™ with regular l-arginine or other arginine compounds like arginine-AKG. These compounds are little more than a gentle breeze compared to Arginine Pohlyhydrate™. Arginine Polyhydrate™ combines proven and effective Arginine HCI, one of the most potent nitric oxide boosters available, with an innovative delivery system, that maximizes absorption and bioavailability of the active ingredient and prevents a destruction in the digestive tract. Because of this Arginin Pohlyhydrate™ provides a maximum increase in nitric oxide production for a maximum blood flow and a crazy, skin splitting pump that is second to none. This maximum blood flow ensures a maximum supply of your hard working muscles with urgently needed nutrients, oxygen and anabolic hormones during and after your workouts, resulting in an increased exercise performance and a significantly faster post-workout recovery. An increased exercise performance equates to a stronger stimulus for new muscle growth, and a faster recovery means that you can exercise more often. If you can exercise more often and more intensively, you can generate a stronger stimulus for new muscle growth more often. As a result of this, your muscles will grow much faster than ever before, while you are experiencing unprecedented tremendous strength gains.

Arginine Polyhydrate™ has been developed as a pure nitric oxide booster, that is limited to the essentials and contains no added stimulants. Because of this Arginine Polyhydrate™ can be used at any time of day – even late at night – and combines well with any other pre-workout supplement, without any overlaps that may lead to an overdose of individual ingredients.

What makes an increased nitric oxide production so interesting for bodybuilders and other athletes? Nitric Oxide is a gaseous compound that acts as a messenger in your body. Nitric oxide is produced by the endothelial cells, which form the inner layer of the blood vessels of the human body. Nitric oxide causes a relaxation of the smooth muscle of your blood vessels, resulting in a widening of your veins. When your veins are dilated, more blood can flow through them in less time, resulting in an increased blood flow to the various tissue types of your body including your muscle tissue. This increased blood flow is also responsible for the pump you experience during your workouts, while it also improves the supply of oxygen, nutrients and anabolic hormones for your working muscles. As an additional bonus an increased blood flow to your muscles also speeds up the removal of toxic metabolic waste products that are produced during exercise and can cause muscle fatigue.

The l-arginine – nitric oxide synthase – nitric oxide pathway

The first nitric oxide products that came to the market contained only precursors of nitric oxide, such as l-arginine, arginine-alpha-ketoglutarate or citrulline, which are capable of increasing the nitric oxide production in the human body. The resulting increase in nitric oxide production is due to the fact that l-arginine and related compounds stimulate the production of an enzyme called endothelial nitric oxide synthase (eNOS for short). This enzyme is responsible for the production of nitric oxide in the endothelial cells of your blood vessels. In addition to stimulating your body’s eNOS production, arginine and similar compounds provide the necessary raw material that eNOS needs for producing nitric oxide. The result of this is a significant increase of your body’s nitric oxide production that leads to a widening of your veins and an increased blood flow to your muscles and other body tissue. This pathway of nitric oxide production is also referred to as l-arginine-nitric oxide synthase-nitric oxide pathway.

There are a number of interesting studies showing the effectiveness of an arginine HCL supplementation and the resulting increased production of nitric oxide for increasing physical performance and exercise performance (2 – 9). For strength athletes and bodybuilders, it will be particularly interesting to know that some studies have also been able to show that arginine HCL allows for a prolonged power production of your muscles (3, 10), which in other words means that you can execute more repetitions per workout set to stimulate a stronger growth of the worked muscles.

Why is arginine polyhydrate significantly superior to other arginine based nitric oxide booster products?

As experts in bioavailability, we used our innovative Polyhydrate™ Technology to give Arginine Polyhydrate™ the same amazing bioavailability you probably know from Creatine Polyhydrate™Glutamine Polyhydrate™Beta-Alanine Polyhydrate™, and DAA Polyhydrate™. Our unique Polyhydrate™ Unique Buffering Technology protects the arginine HCL contained in Arginine Polyhydrate™ from being destroyed by your stomach acid. The second step was the addition of probiotic bacteria to the GN Arginine Polyhydrate™ formula, which can further increase absorption and bioavailability of Arginine Polyhydrate™ by up to 20%. The result of these measures is that Arginine Polyhydrate™ has a significantly better and stronger effect compared to regular arginine and arginine HCL products. You will need a much lower dosage, as nearly 100% of Arginine Polyhydrate™ can be used by your body!

A great pump is much more than just a good feeling

“Not many people understand what a pump is. You have to experience it to understand it. It’s the best feeling you can get. I’m looking for this pump because it means my muscles will grow when I get it. I get a pump when the blood flows into my muscles. They are really bulging due to the blood. It’s as if the skin is about to explode. It’s like someone pumping air into my muscles. They explode. It feels fantastic. ”

– Arnold Schwarzenegger on the pump

The pump during your workouts is one of the most misunderstood aspects of exercise. Many are of the opinion that a pump during their workouts is synonymous with building muscle. Of course that is not the case. A really heavy workout that produces only a minimal pump can be very effective for building muscle, while a pure pump workout with light weights, many repetitions, and many sets that will produce a killer pumps, does not add much to muscle growth. Others think that a pump is just a good feeling that increases their exercise motivation but does not bring any other benefits. That is also not the whole storyas we will show you below.

What produces and promotes a pump?

To understand the real benefits of a muscle pump, you need to know what a pump is from a physiological point of view. A strong pump means nothing more than an exercise-induced increased blood flow to your working muscles that results in a better blood circulation of your muscles. The involved muscles are becoming noticeably bigger as more blood flows through them, pumping them up in the truest sense of the word.

The pump during your workout is promoted by a widening of your veins, because more blood can flow through dilated veins (imagine the difference between a thin garden hose and a large fire hose). This expansion of your veins is facilitated by a relaxation of the smooth muscles in the walls of your blood vessels, the so-called endothelium. A relaxation of the smooth muscle of your blood vessels is promoted by a chemical called nitric oxide that your body produces and releases. The effects of nearly all pump supplements available on the market are based on an increased nitric oxide production in your body, but based on the active ingredients used, there are great differences in efficacy.

What are the real benefits of an increased blood supply of your working muscles?

The main task of your blood and your blood circulation consists in the transport of oxygen, nutrients, hormones and endogenous messengers to the different body tissues, as well as a removal of metabolic waste products from these tissues.

During exercise, your working muscles need more nutrients and more oxygen to function optimally. If your working muscles are not supplied with sufficient oxygen and nutrients, their performance will suffer and fatigue will sets in earlier. A better nutrition and oxygen delivery will enable you to train harder and do more repetitions, which will result in faster and larger gains of muscle mass and strength.

At the same time, it is important that toxic metabolic waste products which are produced during hard and intensive muscle efforts are quickly removed from your muscles, as an accumulation of these wastes products will results in faster muscle fatigue. An increased blood flow is an important key factor that speeds up the removal of these toxic waste products and counteracts premature muscle fatigue.

An increased blood flow allows for more intense and heavier workout sets and more effective workouts, but that’s not all. A better supply of your muscles with important nutrients and oxygen and a faster removal of toxic metabolic waste products are also important for the recovery of your muscles between your workout sets and post-workout. A faster and better recovery between your workout sets will enable you to do more intensive sets with more weight in less time and a faster post-workout recovery will allow more frequent workouts without any risk of overtraining. Both will maximise your gains of muscle mass and strength.

However, the “pumping up” of your muscles, that is associated with an increased blood flow, which is responsible for the actual pump sensation and which causes a temporary, visible increase in muscle volume, also has some interesting effects on your muscle growth. Several scientific studies have shown that such an expansion of muscle tissue has a direct anabolic effect – in other words, it promotes muscle growth. This expansion of muscle tissue is one of the reasons why strong aromatizing anabolic steroids, which cause strong water retentions in muscle tissue, have stronger muscle building effects than non-aromatizing steroids that do not cause water retentions. In addition, a stretching of the fascia, as evoked by a temporary pump-based increase in muscle volume, also appears to promote muscle growth (1). The fascia is a tightly woven network of hard, fibrous tissue that wraps tightly around your muscles and maintains their structural integrity. While crucial for survival, this internal support system can also limit the amount of space available for your muscles to grow and can seriously limit their ability to build mass and strength. Repeated stretching of the fascia by special stretching exercises – and presumably by a temporary increase in muscle volume through an increased blood flow – can give your muscles more room to grow (1). The pump is so much more than just a good feeling that increases your motivation. It can also promote and accelerate your muscle growth in a variety of ways.

The Polyhydrate™ Unique Buffering Technology

Gastric acid is an extremely important component of our digestive system because it plays a key role in the digestion of proteins and in killing of foodborne pathogens. Unfortunately, however, gastric acid also reduces the bioavailability of orally taken amino acid compounds and other active ingredients, as some of these compounds are broken down or chemically altered by gastric acid. This is where our innovative Polyhydrate™ Unique Buffering Technology comes into play. This unique acid buffer system, which you will probably already know from other innovative GN Laboratories products such as Creatine Polyhydrate™, Glutamine Polyhydrate™, Beta-Alanine Polyhydrate™ and DAA Polyhydrate™, protects Arginine Polyhydrate™’s active ingredients from being destroyed by your stomach acid. This protection results in a higher bioavailability and, ultimately, in a larger amount of Arginin that arrives in your body intact.

Why does Arginine Polyhydrate™ contain added probiotic bacteria?

Since we set ourselves the goal of always offering you the best products we can develop based on the latest scientific findings, we did not stop after adding our innovative buffer system. We wanted to find a way to further increase the bioavailability of Arginine Polyhydrate™. In our efforts, we came up with the idea to add probiotic bacteria like Bifidobacterium Bifidum, Lactobacillus Acidophilus and Lactobacillus Casai in microencapsulated form. Recent scientific research has shown that probiotic bacteria can increase the bioavailability and uptake of amino acids in your gut by 20%. The addition of probiotic bacteria therefore further enhances the already superior bioavailability of Arginine Polyhydrate™. With this addition you can be sure that Arginine Polyhydrate™ has a superior bioavailability that exceeds almost every other arginine product you will find on the market.

However, the numerous benefits of probiotic bacteria are not limited to improving the bioavailability of amino acids. In addition, probiotic bacteria possess a lot of other health-promoting properties. In the small intestine, probiotic Lactobacilli bacteria, such as Lactobacillus acidophilus and Lactobacillus casai prevent food-borne pathogens from colonizing your gut by providing an acidic pH level. In the large intestine, the probiotic bifido bacteria such as Bifidobacterium Bifidum keep disease-causing bacteria and fungi in check.

The metabolites of the probiotic bacteria from the bifido group serve as an energy source for the colonocytes (the cells of the inner intestinal wall). Without these metabolic products, the colonocytes would die or could be attacked by bacteria of the intestinal flora. This can lead to indigestion and diseases of the intestines like Crohn’s disease. In addition, probiotic bacteria and their metabolites promote the function of your immune system. Therefore the metabolic performance of probiotic bacteria is directly related to a proper function of your immune system and a deficiency of probiotic bacteria will impair your immune function, which may lead to a higher susceptibility to diseases. Unfortunately, probiotic bacteria are very sensitive compounds that are easily destroyed by environmental factors. For this reason, we use probiotic bacteria in microencapsulated form. This microencapsulation protects the sensitive bacteria from damage by harmful environmental factors, ensuring that these bacteria are effective where they need to be. Although the microencapsulated form of probiotic bacteria is much more expensive to manufacture, we believe that we owe it to our customers to use only the highest quality ingredients.
