Arginine is an amino acid, produced in the pituitary gland, so we can say that basically it’s a non-essential nutrient; however, during hard physical work, your body may not be able to produce it in sufficient quantities, so you may need to take it in from external sources (conditionally essential), practically in the form of dietary supplements.
One of its major roles is contributing to nitrogen oxide – or nitrogen monoxide, NO – synthesis.
Who is L-Arginine powder recommended to?
Unflavoured: Mix 2 g (half a measuring spoon = half a tbsp) powder with 400 ml water or soft drink. Take two servings daily. Do not exceed recommended daily allowance. Cola: Mix 1 serving of powder (4 g = 1 flat measuring spoon = half a tablespoon) with 250 ml water. Take 2 servings a day, one 30 minutes before workout. On rest days drink the powder before going to sleep.
